a new milestone

I finally spent 10 minutes yesterday teaching my girl how to tie shoes...now she has tied every shoe in the house that has laces!

It's gone!

My girl has a loose tooth!

Her first loose tooth-for real! She's been pretending for months, but it's for real! Of course, it freaked her out because there was blood. Once she rinsed her mouth out and I convinced her that it was normal and okay, she was beside herself! She shouted, "I'm a big girl!" She couldn't stop smiling the rest of the evening. The loose tooth took me by surprise. I wasn't quite ready for this. Her teeth came in late, so I figured she would lose them late. I figured she would be one of those that didn't lose her first tooth until first grade. My girl is growing up...too fast.

C. experienced her first Georgia football game yesterday. She really enjoyed it all: the band, the dawg walk, the cheering, the touchdowns, Hairy (She thought he was hysterical!), the popcorn, the snow cone, the cheerleaders...

God's alphabet

This afternoon C. was writing the alphabet in her notebook, saying each letter as she wrote it. All of a sudden, she shouted, "NO!" I asked her what was wrong and she said, "God made a word in the alphabet. a b c d e f g h i j k l m NO!"

It was a great day!

She enjoyed every part of the day. She said her teacher was nice. She went to PE and played on the new playground. She said she was "obeyful" and respectful. As we pulled in the driveway, she said, "I LIKE Kindergarten!" This was the best I could do, as we went out the door at 6:30. I wish that shadow wasn't behind her. It was pitch black outside so I left the kitchen light off and bounced the flash off the ceiling.

Kindergarten

My baby starts Kindergarten tomorrow. She is so excited! Since 5:00 this morning she has been saying things like, "I can't wait to go to school tomorrow!" and "Tomorrow is my lucky day!" and "I get to go to Kindergarten tomorrow!" and "School starts tomorrow!" and "I am so excited to start Kindergarten!" And then there is the song and dance she created to go with the display outside of her classroom....Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Who's in Mrs. Frady's room? The words were there, but she sings them along with the dance she choreographed. She is asleep now. Her backpack is ready. Her clothes are ready. Her lunch box is as ready as it can be at the moment. She is ready. Oh, the things she will learn this year...how much she will grow and change...how grown up she will be at the end of May. It seems like it wasn't long ago that she was just over 5 lbs. And now she's writing things like noot (newt) and qeshdnmrk (question mark) and muoosanm (museum). Unbelievable.

C. got a new bike, or a bike, I should say. She was still riding a tricycle. She saw the bikes when we were at Target one day and said, "Mommy, do you think I could have a bike with two wheels?" Of course, she has four wheels, if you count training wheels!

I was looking back at my old posts, and I couldn't believe that I didn't post my favorite picture from our beach trip over Spring Break. I'm sure that I had a reason at the time...just don't know what it was.
