FINALLY!

I got a book.~Teach Yourself Visually Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. In just a short time I managed to figure out how to make a photo collage, create a fill layer, and add text...
(click on the image to see it larger, names have been altered to protect the innocent)

...and I learned how to feather the edges of a photo!
I have so much more to learn, but those were the two things that were driving me crazy because I couldn't figure it out on my own! I feel better now!

snow in black and white

I thought this shot was interesting in black and white.

Playing with Photoshop

Well, since I can't figure out what I want to figure out in Photoshop, I thought I would play around with some of the artistic effects. I like this first one.
This one is called carving. I think it is kind of neat. I thought Grandaddy might like it since he enjoys carving. This one is called colored pencil. Kind of neat....kind of creepy. I can't decide. Any thoughts?

Trying to figure out Photoshop...

I am desperately trying to figure out Photoshop Elements 6.0 so that I can make beautiful collages of things like sweet baby feet. I couldn't figure out how to fill with a background color. I know it has to do with layers. I actually got a layer of blue, but I don't have any idea how to get all of the layers together. I wanted to be able to add text, too. Oh well, here are Duncan's beautiful feet again.

New Lens

I got a new lens for my camera...50mm 1.8D. The aperture goes all the way to 1.8, which I love! It is manual focus though, which is definitely going to take some getting used to. I went outside to try it out, but all we have in our yard right now is dead leaves and weeds! These two pictures were the best. I had a lot that were not quite in focus. There was a little bit of a breeze, and I'm sure I probably moved some, too.

Duncan, 3 weeks old

sweet feet

I got to meet baby Duncan today. He is a sweet little guy with lots of hair! Maybe next time I can catch him when he is not getting tired and hungry. He was wanting that pacifier!
